Win the click
Your title and description are your ad in the results. A clear, complete snippet earns more clicks.
See your search listing before Google does. Type a title, URL and description to get a live desktop and mobile preview with pixel-based truncation and bolded keywords.
Google rewrites many titles and descriptions and its limits change over time, so treat this as a close estimate rather than a guarantee.

Google truncates by pixel width, not characters, so wide letters can push key words out of view.
Most searches happen on phones, where the layout and limits differ from desktop.
Google limits titles by the width of the result container rather than a fixed character count. This preview measures your text with the browser's canvas text metrics using Arial, the font Google uses for results, and trims it at about 600 pixels for desktop titles and around 920 pixels for desktop descriptions, adding an ellipsis at a word boundary like Google does.
Google may still rewrite your title or choose a different description based on the search query, and the exact limits shift as the results page is redesigned. Use the preview to make sure your most important words appear early and fit comfortably.
Wide letters like W and M use more space than i and l, which the measurement accounts for.
Search terms are bolded in the preview just as they are in real results.
The URL is shown as a breadcrumb trail like modern Google results.
Aim for roughly 50 to 60 characters, or under about 600 pixels, with the main keyword near the start.
Around 120 to 158 characters usually displays fully on desktop. Mobile shows a little less.
Google rewrites titles it considers too long, keyword-stuffed or not descriptive of the page. A concise, accurate title is rewritten less often.
Yes. When Google shows a date, it takes space at the start of the description, so less of your text fits.
