Pong is often credited as the game that proved video games could be commercially popular, and its rules have barely changed since: two paddles, one ball, and a race to keep it in play longer than your opponent. What makes it hold up is how much control the angle of contact gives you — a straight return keeps a rally alive, but an angled one can end it outright.
This version keeps a single-player mode against a CPU that plays fair but isn't perfect, plus a full 2 player hotseat mode for two people on one keyboard.
Watching the paddle contact point tells you more about where the ball is headed than watching the ball itself.
