Why a dedicated rep counter helps

Losing count mid-set is the easiest way to shortchange a workout, and typing numbers into a notes app between reps breaks your rhythm.

      Hands-free enough

Tap the screen or hit Space with a free hand so you can keep your eyes on your form, not on typing.

      Automatic rest

The rest timer starts the moment you finish a set, so you never have to glance at a phone clock between sets.

      A real session log

Every finished set is tallied automatically, so your workout total is accurate without manual math.

      About counting reps accurately

Rep counting sounds trivial until you're on rep 14 of a set of high-fatigue squats and lose your place because your phone buzzed. This tool keeps the interaction to a single motion — a tap or a spacebar press — so counting never competes with your attention on form or breathing. Each set you finish is stored in the current session, and the running totals in the settings panel update automatically, so you always know how many sets and total reps you've logged without doing mental addition mid-workout. The rest timer exists for the same reason lifters use rest intervals in the first place: consistent rest between sets is what makes strength and hypertrophy programs comparable week to week, and eyeballing a clock is a common source of drift. Because the countdown runs with the Web Audio API, it can chime when your rest ends even if you've set the screen down, so you don't have to babysit a timer between exercises. Session history is stored locally in your browser using localStorage, which means it persists across visits without any account, login or server, and it also means it's private to your device — nothing about your workout is ever uploaded anywhere.

      One motion to count

Tap or spacebar — no menus or number pads to fumble with mid-set.

      Consistent rest

An audible cue tells you exactly when rest is over, so intervals stay consistent.

      Private by design

History lives in your browser's local storage only; nothing is sent to a server.

      Workout rep counter FAQ

How do I count reps with this tool?

Tap the big counter button or press the spacebar each time you complete a rep. The number updates instantly with no page reload.

      What does Finish Set do?

It locks in your current rep count as a completed set, adds it to today's session list, resets the counter to zero for the next set, and starts the rest timer if auto-rest is enabled.

Can I change the rest timer length?

Yes. Enter any rest duration in seconds in the settings panel. You can also add 15 seconds or skip the rest entirely while it is counting down.

      Is my workout history saved?

Yes. Each finished session, including the date, number of sets, reps per set and total reps, is saved to your browser's local storage so you can review past workouts until you clear the history.

Does the rest timer make a sound?

Yes. It plays an audible tone generated with the Web Audio API when the rest period ends, so you don't have to watch the screen while resting.
