Good for planning
Break a big project into major themes, then branch each theme into concrete tasks.
Start from a central idea and branch out. Add child nodes, drag them into place, rename them inline, then export your finished map as an image.
Mind maps work by mirroring how ideas actually branch in your head: one central concept, with related thoughts radiating outward and further details branching from those. Keeping each node to a short phrase rather than a full sentence makes the map easier to scan and rearrange as your thinking evolves. Since every node here can be dragged freely, you can group related branches together visually even after adding them.

Map out how the concepts in a chapter connect to each other before an exam.
Double-click it. An editable box appears over the node; type the new text and press Enter or click elsewhere to save it.
Click a node to select it, then click Add child to selected. The new node appears connected to the one you selected.
Deleting a node removes it and every node branching from it, since those children no longer have a parent to connect to.
