How it works

1

Upload your photo

Click the drop zone or drag a JPG, PNG, or WebP file onto it. The image loads straight into a canvas on your device.

2

FAQ

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The halftone conversion runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API, so your photo is never uploaded anywhere.

How is the halftone dot pattern generated?

The image is divided into a grid of square cells. For each cell the tool averages the pixel brightness, then draws a circle whose radius grows as the cell gets darker, mimicking traditional print halftone screens.

What is the difference between grayscale and color mode?

Grayscale mode draws black dots of varying size on a white background for a classic newspaper look. Color mode sizes the same dots by darkness but fills them with each cell's average color for a colorful halftone poster effect.
