1. Enter the price
Type the original, pre-discount price of the item or order.
Enter an original price and a discount to see exactly how much you save and what you'll actually pay, including a second stacked discount and sales tax.
Tax, if entered, is applied after all discounts to the discounted price — the way most checkouts calculate it.
This free tool works out exactly what a sale price costs you. Enter the original price, choose percent off or a flat dollar amount, and add a second discount or sales tax if they apply. Everything runs locally in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
Type the original, pre-discount price of the item or order.
Choose percent or flat off, and stack a second coupon if you have one.
See the amount saved, the price after tax, and the final total.
A single discount is straightforward: multiply the price by the discount percentage (or subtract a flat amount) to find your savings. Stacked discounts are trickier, because the second discount applies to the already-discounted price, not the original — so two 20% discounts never add up to 40% off.
Savings = price × (discount ÷ 100). Final price = price − savings.
$100 at 20% off becomes $80. A further 10% off $80 saves $8, for a final price of $72 — not $70.
Most retailers calculate sales tax on the discounted price, so tax is applied last, after every discount.
Savings equal the original price multiplied by the discount percentage, or the flat amount you enter directly. The final price is the original price minus the savings.
A second discount is applied to the price after the first discount has already been subtracted, not to the original price. This mirrors a coupon applied on top of a sale price.
If you enter a tax rate, it is applied after all discounts to the discounted price, matching how most retailers calculate tax at checkout.
