The builder first works out every scheduled day between your start date and the end of the range: every weekday if you pick the weekdays option, or one specific weekday per week if you pick once a week. It then assigns exactly one driver per scheduled day by cycling through your participant list in order — the driver for scheduled day number N is participant number N modulo the group size. Because the same fixed-length cycle simply repeats, this guarantees that across any number of scheduled days, every participant drives either the same number of times as everyone else in the group, or at most one time more or less — there's no way for the distribution to drift unfair over a long schedule. The shuffle button re-randomizes the order participants appear in the cycle using a fair shuffle, which changes who drives on which specific day without changing how balanced the overall rotation is. Everything is computed instantly in your browser, and the finished schedule can be copied as plain text for sharing.

Weekdays generates one scheduled day for every Monday through Friday in your date range, skipping weekends. Once a week generates a single scheduled day per week on the weekday you choose.
It randomly reorders your participant list and regenerates the schedule from that new order. The rotation stays just as fair — only who starts first and the exact cycle order changes.
