Use the agreed vehicle price before any down payment or trade-in is applied.
Estimate your monthly car payment, total interest and total cost from the vehicle price, your down payment, trade-in value, APR and loan term.
This estimate assumes a fixed APR for the full loan term with no fees, taxes or extra charges added to the loan. Actual dealer or lender quotes may differ.
This free calculator runs entirely in your browser, so your numbers are never uploaded or stored. Enter the vehicle price, any down payment and trade-in value, the APR and the loan term, then select calculate.

Choose the interest rate and repayment period offered by your lender.
A car loan payment is calculated on the amount you actually finance, not the sticker price. Your down payment and trade-in value both reduce that amount before interest is applied, and the remaining balance is spread evenly across the loan term using standard amortization math.
Loan amount = vehicle price − down payment − trade-in value, with a minimum of $0.
Payment = loan amount × monthly rate ÷ (1 − (1 + monthly rate)^−months). A 0% APR loan simply divides the amount by the term.
A shorter loan term raises the monthly payment but usually lowers the total interest paid overall.
The amount financed is the vehicle price minus your down payment and trade-in value. That amount is then spread across the loan term using the standard loan payment formula, based on your monthly interest rate.
Yes. A larger down payment reduces the amount financed, which lowers both your monthly payment and the total interest charged over the life of the loan.
Your trade-in value is subtracted from the vehicle price along with your down payment, reducing the loan amount in the same way a cash down payment does.
