How to use the anniversary countdown tracker

Add the original date once and let the tracker handle the arithmetic each year.

  1. Add the milestoneGive it a name and the original date it happened, or will happen.
  2. Choose recurring or one-offYearly anniversaries roll forward; single events keep counting to one date.
  3. Watch the countdownThe list reorders itself so whichever milestone is next appears at the top.

About marking anniversaries

Anniversaries do two useful things. They prompt you to acknowledge something before it slips past unnoticed, and they measure distance travelled — which is why sober dates, recovery dates and work anniversaries carry weight far beyond the celebration. Keeping them in one place means the ones that matter most are not the ones you happen to remember.

Milestones need warning

An anniversary you notice on the day is an anniversary you cannot plan for. The countdown is the point.

Distance travelled

For recovery dates and long-term commitments, the elapsed count is often more meaningful than the celebration.

One-off dates too

Not every important date repeats. A completion date or a move-in day is worth counting down to just once.

Private by default

Personal dates stay on your device. There is no account, no sharing and no sync.

Anniversary countdown tracker FAQ

Questions about recurring dates, anniversary numbers and privacy.

What counts as an anniversary?

Anything you want to mark on a cycle: a wedding, the date you started a job, a sober date, the day you moved in, or the day you adopted a pet. The tracker treats them all the same way.

What is the difference between recurring and one-off?

A recurring entry rolls forward to the same date next year once it passes. A one-off keeps counting down to a single fixed date and then reports how long ago it was.

How is the anniversary number worked out?

It is the number of years between the original date and the upcoming occurrence. An entry from 2019 reaching its 2026 occurrence is the seventh anniversary.

Can I track a date in the future, like a wedding?

Yes. Set it as a one-off and it counts down to the day. Switch it to recurring afterwards if you want to keep marking it each year.

Where is the list stored?
