About speed trivia

Trivia is normally an untimed, thoughtful format — but put a clock on it and it becomes a different game entirely, closer to a reflex test that happens to be dressed up as general knowledge. The pressure changes how you answer: you lean on instinct and recognition rather than careful deduction, which tends to reward broad familiarity over deep expertise.

The speed bonus is what makes a fast, confident wrong guess riskier than a slower, considered right one, so the scoring rewards genuine knowledge more than blind speed.

Ten seconds is tight

It's enough time to read and decide, but not enough to second-guess yourself more than once.

Speed pays, guessing doesn't

The bonus only applies to correct answers, so racing to lock in a wrong guess never helps your score.

Mixed categories

Questions are drawn from several categories per round, so no single topic can be studied for in advance.

A recap, not just a score

Seeing every question and answer afterward turns each round into a quick learning moment too.

Trivia speed round FAQ

Questions about rounds, timing and scoring.

How many questions are in a round?

Each round is 10 questions, drawn and shuffled from a larger built-in question bank so rounds don't always repeat in the same order.

What happens if I don't answer in time?

After 10 seconds the question auto-advances and counts as incorrect, so it always pays to lock in an answer even if you're unsure.

How is the speed bonus calculated?

Every correct answer is worth a base amount of points, plus a bonus for the seconds you had left on the clock when you answered — so faster correct answers score more.

Is my best score saved anywhere besides my browser?

No. Your best round score is saved only in this browser's local storage on this device and is never uploaded anywhere.

Can I play again with different questions?

Yes. Play again reshuffles the full question bank and deals a fresh set of 10 questions in a new order.
