How to calculate poker odds

  1. Enter your handTap Your hand and pick your two hole cards. The board box is selected next.
  2. Add the board and opponentsAdd 3, 4 or 5 community cards if any, choose the number of opponents and optionally their cards.

Equity, win and tie

Equity is your share of the pot on average if the hand were played out many times: every win counts as one, and every tie counts as your share of the split. Win and tie percentages are shown separately so you can see how often chopped pots happen, which is common with hands like A-K against A-Q on paired boards.

When all opponents' cards are known, the calculator enumerates every possible remaining board for an exact answer; for example, a flop leaves 990 turn and river combinations heads-up. With random opponents, it deals hundreds of thousands of random hands and boards, which gives results within a few tenths of a percent.

AA vs KK

Aces win about 82% of the time preflop.

Coin flip

A pair against two higher cards, like 22 vs AK, is close to 50/50.

Rule of 4 and 2

Outs x 4 on the flop or x 2 on the turn approximates your chance to hit.

Hold'em odds FAQ

How accurate are the results?

Known matchups with a flop or later are exact. Simulations of 100,000 deals are usually within about 0.3 percentage points.

What does random opponent mean?

An empty opponent box is dealt a random hand from the remaining deck on every simulated deal.

Why do equity and win differ?

Equity includes your share of split pots, so it is win plus a fraction of the ties.

Can I enter only the flop?

Yes. Board cards can be 0 (preflop), 3 (flop), 4 (turn) or 5 (river).

Is any data sent to a server?

No. All calculations run in your browser.
