What is a task dependency map?
It is a visual diagram of the relationships between tasks. An arrow shows that one task is a prerequisite for another, making the order of work and current blockers easier to understand.
How are ready and blocked tasks calculated?
A task is ready when it is incomplete and every task it depends on is complete. It is blocked when one or more prerequisites are still incomplete. Completed tasks receive their own status.
Can I create a circular dependency?
No. The mapper checks new relationships and stops dependency loops, such as Task A requiring Task B while Task B also requires Task A.
Is my project dependency map private?
Yes. Tasks and connections are saved in local storage in your current browser. This tool does not upload the map. Clearing browser data can remove it, so keep another record of important plans.
Is this task dependency mapper free to use online?
Yes. The mapper is free to use online with no account, sign-up or installation required.
