SWOT Analysis Builder

  3. Export the resultPrint the grid, save it as a PDF, or download it as a plain text file.

Getting a useful SWOT analysis

A good SWOT analysis stays specific. Strengths and Weaknesses should describe things that are true today and mostly within your control, like skills, resources or reputation. Opportunities and Threats look outward at the environment you operate in, like market trends, competitors or regulation, which you cannot control directly but need to plan around. Comparing the four boxes side by side often reveals strategies, such as using a strength to capture an opportunity, or shoring up a weakness before a threat becomes a problem.

Keep points short

A single clear phrase per line is easier to compare across boxes than a long paragraph.

Revisit it periodically

Strengths and threats both change over time, so a SWOT analysis is worth repeating.
