Pixel Art Editor FAQ

What grid sizes can I use?

You can choose 8x8, 16x16, 24x24, 32x32 or 48x48 pixel grids, common sizes for retro-style game sprites and icons.

How do I paint multiple pixels quickly?

Click and hold, then drag across the grid to paint every cell your cursor passes over with the current color.

Does switching grid size keep my drawing?

No, changing the grid size starts a new blank canvas at that size, since the pixel dimensions no longer match.

What does the exported PNG look like?

It exports at exactly one pixel of the file per grid cell, for example a 16x16 grid saves as a crisp 16x16 pixel PNG.

Is my artwork saved anywhere?

No, everything is drawn locally on an HTML canvas and is lost if you refresh the page without downloading it.
