Minesweeper has stayed popular for decades because it rewards careful logic more than luck. Every revealed number is a constraint — it tells you exactly how many of its unrevealed neighbors are mines — and most of a well-played board can be solved by comparing overlapping constraints between adjacent numbers rather than guessing.
This version keeps the original rules intact: a guaranteed-safe opening click, flood-fill reveals for empty regions, and flags you can place and remove freely while you work out the safer deductions.
A revealed 1 with only one unrevealed neighbor tells you that neighbor is a mine — chase these certain deductions before anything else.
Two adjacent numbers that share unrevealed neighbors often let you subtract one constraint from another to find a guaranteed safe cell.
Corner and edge cells have fewer neighbors, which makes their numbers easier to fully solve early in a game.
Sometimes no deduction is available and every remaining unrevealed cell carries equal risk — recognizing that moment saves time versus over-analyzing.
