Meetings end on time
Every item gets a budget, so the last topic is not squeezed.
Tell it how long the meeting is and what you need to cover. Fixed items keep their minutes, the rest share the remaining time by priority, and every item gets a start and end time.

Every item gets a budget, so the last topic is not squeezed.
High-priority items automatically get a bigger share.
Clock times and a live timer make overruns obvious immediately.
Fixed items keep exactly the minutes you give them. The buffer is reserved for wrap-up at the end. Whatever remains is shared between the flexible items by weight: high priority counts three, normal two and low one. Each flexible item gets at least one rounding step, and a largest-remainder method makes the rounded minutes add up exactly, with any odd minutes added to the wrap-up.
If fixed items and buffer already exceed the meeting length, you will see a warning instead of a broken schedule, so you can trim before you send the invite.
Exact minutes, for things like a demo or a guest slot.
High 3, normal 2, low 1 shares of the remaining time.
Protected minutes for decisions, owners and next steps.
It means giving each agenda item a fixed amount of time and moving on when it runs out, parking anything unfinished for later.
Meetings often end without confirming decisions and owners. A few protected minutes at the end make sure that happens.
Round numbers are easier to follow. Choose 1 minute for short meetings where every minute counts.
