How to check keyword density online

Paste your text into the free keyword density checker to create a clear word-frequency map. Review individual keywords, switch to two- or three-word phrases, or enter a focus term for its exact count and percentage. Density is calculated as occurrences divided by total words, multiplied by 100.

Spot repetition fast

Colorful density bars make overused words and recurring phrases easy to notice at a glance.

Check your focus phrase

Enter a target keyword to see its exact count and density without hunting through the table.

Keep every draft private

Your text is analyzed locally. It is never uploaded, stored or sent to this website.

A better way to use density

Look for awkward repetition, missing topic language and accidental patterns. Then edit for the person reading—not for a magic percentage.

Keyword density checker FAQ

What is keyword density?

Keyword density is how often a word or phrase appears compared with the total number of words. For example, 3 uses in a 300-word text equals 1% density.

What is a good keyword density?

There is no universal ideal percentage. Use the result to catch repetition and confirm topic coverage, then prioritize natural language, usefulness and reader intent.

How are two- and three-word phrases counted?

The checker scans consecutive words and counts each matching phrase. Phrase density uses the same total word count denominator so results stay easy to compare.

What does “exclude common words” do?

It removes frequent English function words such as “the,” “and” and “to” from the single-word table. Phrase analysis keeps those words because they may be meaningful inside a phrase.

Is my text saved or uploaded?

No. All counting happens locally in your browser. Clearing or leaving the page removes the text from the checker.
