How to add a watermark grid to a photo

Protect photos you share online, in portfolios or in client previews with a repeating watermark that's hard to remove cleanly.

  1. Upload your photoChoose or drop the image you want to protect.
  2. Choose text or logoType a watermark phrase or upload a small logo image to tile instead.
  3. Style and downloadAdjust spacing, rotation, opacity and color, then download the watermarked PNG.

Why use a tiled watermark instead of one mark?

A single logo in a corner is easy to crop out of a photo in seconds. Repeating the same watermark across the entire frame at an angle means any crop that removes it also removes most of the underlying image, which makes tiled watermarks a popular choice for preview images, stock photography and client proofs.

Spacing controls density

Tighter spacing creates a denser, more protective grid. Wider spacing keeps the photo more visible for previewing composition and color.

Rotation breaks up patterns

Angling the watermark, commonly around 30 degrees, makes it harder to clone-stamp or pattern-match out in photo editing software.

Opacity balances visibility

Lower opacity keeps the photo pleasant to preview while still marking every region. Higher opacity is better for firmly discouraging unauthorized use.

Text or logo

Use text for a quick copyright or username mark, or upload a small transparent PNG logo for a more branded watermark.

Watermark grid generator FAQ

Can I use my own logo as the watermark?

Yes. Switch the watermark type to Logo image and upload a small PNG or transparent logo. It will be tiled the same way a text watermark is.

Why tile a watermark in a repeating grid instead of one mark?

A repeating grid across the whole photo makes it much harder to crop the watermark out compared to a single mark in one corner.

Can I control how visible the watermark is?

Yes. Use the opacity slider to make the watermark subtle or bold, and adjust spacing, rotation, font size and color to fit your image.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The watermark grid is drawn onto a canvas element entirely in your browser. Your image is never uploaded.
