Bubble text relies on a small but genuinely useful corner of the Unicode standard: the Enclosed Alphanumerics block. Rather than drawing a circle around a letter with CSS or an image, Unicode assigns each circled character its own dedicated code point, which is why bubble text behaves like normal text everywhere it's supported — it can be typed into a username, searched for, and copied without losing its shape. Capital letters A through Z live at U+24B6 through U+24CF, lowercase letters a through z at U+24D0 through U+24E9, and digits 1 through 9 at U+2460 through U+2468, with 0 handled separately at U+24EA. A second, visually bolder set exists for "negative" or filled bubbles, where the circle is solid and the character inside is light: capital letters A through Z appear at U+1F150 through U+1F169, and digits 0 through 9 are covered by U+24FF and U+2776 through U+277E. Crucially, Unicode never defined a negative-circled block for lowercase letters, which is why this generator is honest about that gap rather than approximating it with the wrong character.

Outline style uses the standard circled Unicode letters and digits with a light ring. Filled style uses the negative-circled Unicode block, which renders as a solid circle with a light character inside, where that character exists.
Unicode only defines negative-circled forms for capital letters A to Z and digits 0 to 9. There is no negative-circled block for lowercase letters, so lowercase always falls back to the outline circled style even when Filled is selected.
Digits 0 to 9 are fully supported in both outline and filled style. Punctuation, symbols and spaces are not part of the circled Unicode ranges, so they pass through unchanged.
