Two 10x10 grids
Your fleet stays visible on the left while the enemy's waters stay hidden until you fire.
Place your fleet, fire on the computer's hidden waters, and sink all five enemy ships before it sinks yours.

The computer fires randomly until it lands a hit, then hunts the cells around it to finish the job.
Auto-place your fleet instantly or take control and place each ship by hand.
Both sides secretly place a fleet of 5 ships on a 10x10 grid, then take turns firing at each other's grid to find and sink every ship.
Battleship turns a simple grid of hidden ships into a game of probability and deduction. Every shot narrows down where the remaining ships could be, and once you land a hit, following the line of the wounded ship is usually the fastest way to sink it.
A Carrier (5), Battleship (4), Cruiser (3), Submarine (3) and Destroyer (2) make up each side's fleet, for 17 ship cells total.
Once a shot lands, checking the four cells around it is usually smarter than firing somewhere random.
Clustering ships together lets a single lucky hunting streak sink several of them in a row.
Auto-placement is fast for a quick round; manual placement lets you plan a trickier layout.
Common questions about the fleet, placement and the computer opponent.
Each side has 5 ships: a Carrier (5 cells), Battleship (4 cells), Cruiser (3 cells), Submarine (3 cells) and Destroyer (2 cells), matching the standard Battleship fleet.
Yes. Switch to manual placement, pick a ship, use Rotate to choose horizontal or vertical, then click a cell on your own grid to place it. You can also click Randomize at any time before firing your first shot.
The computer fires randomly until it scores a hit. After a hit it starts targeting the adjacent cells around that hit to try to finish off the ship, similar to how a person would hunt down a wounded ship.
Sink all 5 of the computer's ships by hitting every cell they occupy before the computer sinks all 5 of yours.
