Tighter recordings
Voice notes, podcasts and samples start right on the sound instead of after dead air.
Drop in a voice memo, podcast clip or sample and cut the dead air at the start and end automatically. Adjust the threshold, keep a little padding and download the result.

Voice notes, podcasts and samples start right on the sound instead of after dead air.
Trimmed one-shots trigger instantly in samplers and video editors.
The file is processed in your browser, so nothing is uploaded or queued.
The audio is split into 10 millisecond frames and the loudness of each frame is measured as an RMS level in decibels. The first and last frames louder than your threshold mark where the sound begins and ends. Everything outside them, minus the padding you choose, is removed.
A short fade is applied at each new edge so the cut does not click. Padding keeps a little air around the sound, which keeps breaths and soft attacks natural. The result is saved as a 16-bit WAV at the original sample rate.
A good starting point for spoken word recorded in a quiet room.
If background hiss stops trimming, move the threshold toward -30 dB.
Quiet intros or fade-ins need a lower threshold such as -60 dB.
No. Only leading and trailing silence is removed, so pauses inside speech or music are kept.
WAV is lossless and can be created directly in the browser. Convert it to MP3 afterward if you need a smaller file.
No. Samples are copied exactly at the original sample rate, apart from the tiny fades at the cut points.
Often, yes. Most browsers can decode the audio track of MP4 and WebM files, and the result is an audio-only WAV.
Only your device's memory. Long files take a few seconds to decode.
